Biography

Brian Shaughnessy’s practice is concentrated in the area of general tort litigation, construction litigation, product liability and premises liability in State and Federal court. He has been retained in multi-million dollar product recall and condominium construction defect cases. Brian has tried several cases representing defendants in wrongful death, serious injury and property damage claims.

Brian is a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago-Kent College of Law (J.D. with honors, 1979) and Marquette University (B.S. 1974). Brian is a member of the Illinois bar and the Federal Trial Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S.District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois.

Brian is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and Defense Research Institute.

Representative Matters

Brian represents a national health club corporation in all of its Illinois lawsuits, including wrongful death and serious injury cases.

Brian is currently representing a manufacturer of windows and doors in a seven figure claim regarding a condominium development.

Brian represents a national restaurant chain in a case wherein plaintiff is claiming a serious brain injury allegedly resulting from being struck by a motor vehicle that crashed through the glass wall of the restaurant.
